Sinewave raises the bar on sustainability with B Corp score increase
After months of hard work, we are pleased to announce our successful B Corp recertification. We’ve achieved an increased score of 99.3, an almost 10-point increase from our previous assessment score of89.8.
B Lab awards B Corp certification to companies that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. A score of 80 is required to qualify, and the median score for a typical UK company is 50.9 – making our score of 99.3 a massive badge of honour, distinguishing us from 500-plus ICPs operating in the UK today.
“Our B Corp recertification and score reflect the hard work of our whole team and, together with our Sunday Times fastest-growing private companies award, show that our growth won’t come at the cost of sustainability,” said Adam Woodley, Sinewave CEO.
“As the UK accelerates its build-out of energy infrastructure to meet net zero targets and clean power goals, it's never been more important for businesses like ours to lead by example in how we operate, and how we help our customers reduce their emissions in the process.”
B Corp certification requires companies to be diligent in waste management, carbon reduction and ethical standards. Our improved score comes in part from Sinewave Switch, our bespoke tracking platform that provides a project-by-project breakdown of scope 3 emissions. Switch gives our customers visibility of their projects’ carbon footprints and supports more responsible design, materials, and transport decisions for new projects to reduce overall scope 3 emissions.
Through Switch, we ensure the remaining carbon footprint of each project is offset through a variety of certified initiatives, including forestry, community development, and clean energy. All of this allows us toprovide customers with carbon-neutral project delivery as standard.
Since our debut B Corp certification three years ago, we’ve made huge strides in waste management, diverting 77% of our waste from landfill, regenerating 4,000 litres of waste oil, and achieving Simpler Recycling compliance at 100% of our sites. Alongside this, we’re committed to our 10% year-on-year carbon reduction plan and to using construction materials in a more circular way.
Our commitment to the ethos of B Corp extends throughout the business, with every area playing a role in how we become more sustainable and ethical as we grow.
