Sinewave run a 2024 graduate assessment centre

With over sixty applicants to our advertised graduate roles we welcomed seven candidates to our Swindon training academy in April to undergo a one day assessment.

Sinewave ran the first graduate program in 2022 and were delighted with the results. With the successful candidates spending up to three months in each team supported by our Head of People Julia Whiteley as well as team managers the program was a massive success.

It was a no brainer that we repeat this in 2024 but with one notable change. One of the successful candidates from our 2022 cohort Brendan Laurence, now a Junior Electrical Designer with us, played a role in the vetting and assessment of the applicants and will help support the onboarding of any successful candidates from this year’s pool.

Brendan said “It was great to be given the opportunity to be involved and I got to see what it’s like on the other side. I look forward to getting to know them and helping those successful settle in.”

The assessment day was made up of an introduction to Sinewave, a group activity to assess working in a team, a technical exercise looking at the design and identifying risks in a live Sinewave EV project in Derby and a 121 interview. Supported by department heads Jon Ivey and Charles Trim along with CFO Jason Turner and COO Ashley Hutchinson the graduates enjoyed a full day of practical assessments along with a building tour and lunch with some our our wider team to give them an insight into life at Sinewave.
